Mountain Bike Skills Refresh Clinic – Spring Tune-Up
Shake off the winter rust and get ready for riding season! Our Spring Mountain Bike Skills Refresh Clinic is designed for riders who want to rebuild confidence, sharpen technique, and start the season strong.
In this supportive, small-group session, we’ll revisit the core skills that make riding safer, smoother, and more fun. BICP Certified instructor, Janine, will guide you through practical drills and trail scenarios focused on body position, braking control, cornering, climbing efficiency, and descending with confidence.
Whether you’ve been off the bike all winter or just want to dial in your fundamentals, this clinic will help you reconnect with your bike and hit the trails feeling strong.

Women’s Wednesdays – Mountain Bike Beginner Skills Clinic Series
Ready to take your riding to the next level in a supportive, welcoming environment? This beginner-friendly women’s mountain bike clinic is designed for riders who feel comfortable on mellow, smooth trails but tend to avoid steeper or more technical terrain. If you’re looking to build confidence, improve your bike handling, and expand the kinds of trails you feel comfortable riding, this clinic led by BICP certified skills instructor, Janine, is for you!
Throughout the session, we’ll focus on foundational skills that make mountain biking safer, smoother, and more fun. You’ll learn techniques for body positioning, braking, cornering, and navigating small trail features, along with strategies for approaching terrain that may have previously felt intimidating. Our goal is to help you develop the tools and confidence to ride with more control and flow.
This clinic emphasizes a positive, encouraging learning environment where questions are welcome and progress happens at your own pace. Whether you’re looking to feel more comfortable on descents, handle trail obstacles more smoothly, or simply gain confidence on your bike, you’ll leave with practical skills you can immediately apply on the trail.

Women’s Thursdays – Mountain Bike Intermediate Skills Clinic Series
Ready to ride stronger, smoother, and faster? This women’s intermediate mountain bike skills clinic is designed for riders who already feel comfortable on intermediate terrain and can navigate a variety of trail features but know there’s still room to grow. If you’re looking to refine your technique, build speed, and ride with more confidence and control, this clinic led by BICP certified skills instructor, Janine, is for you.
During this session, we’ll focus on advancing core riding skills that help you ride more efficiently and confidently on a wider range of terrain. Topics may include body positioning for steeper trails, cornering with more speed and control, braking techniques, line choice, and navigating common trail features like rocks, roots, and small drops or ledges. We’ll also work on developing flow and maintaining momentum so you can ride technical sections with greater ease.
This clinic provides a supportive and encouraging learning environment where riders can challenge themselves while continuing to build solid fundamentals. Through skill drills, guided practice, and on-trail coaching, you’ll gain the tools to ride more smoothly, confidently, and efficiently.

Learn basic bike maintenance directly from the experienced Pagosa Mountain Sports’ bike mechanics!
Clinics will be in the Pagosa Mountain Sports Service shop. We will supply tools and bikes if needed but feel free to bring your own equipment so we can show you how to use it.
These are important skills to learn. Don’t get stranded on the trail!
- Bike 101 – Learn how to clean and lube your bike, properly air up your tires, do a safety check and take your pedals on and off
- Change a Flat Tire
- Tubeless Tire Clinic – Learn how to set up a tubeless tire and how to plug it out on the trail
- Shift and Brake Adjusting
