Note on current conditions for biking - Late April of 2024

Please help us maintain our trails and roads. If in doubt, don't go. Riding in melting snow and mud creates deep ruts that can take many seasons to pack back down.

River Trail - paved
Good to go!

Gravel Roads
Changing conditions depending on weather. Right after a storm, the roads will be muddy. After it dries, gravel, townie and mountain bikes can be ridden. The higher elevation roads typically keep snow and are muddy until well into May.

Reservoir Hill - single track
Most trails are good to go! There are still a few patches of mud and snow. Right after a storm, the trails can be muddy.

Turkey Springs / Coyote Hill - single track
The trails on the front side are looking good. Backside trails could still have patches of mud and snow. Right after a storm, the trails can be muddy.

Treasure Mountain - single track
This high elevation trail will be snowy, muddy and blocked with downed trees until at least late June or early July. For early season elevation riding, bikers often try riding this trail from the East Fork trailhead up until the trail is blocked. Watch the local DUST2 wheel club site for Treasure Mountain trail maintenance days and trail clearing reports.

Wolf Creek Pass / Highway 160 - road riding
Changing conditions depending on weather. Wolf Creek Pass is still receiving snow and will off and on until the end of May. The highway can be snowy, wet and sprinkled with fallen rocks. Road shoulders can be full of snow, rocks and sand.

The Pagosa Springs area offers many amazing places to ride a bike.  There are miles of single track on National Forest, town and county land,  hundreds of miles of gravel road, the River Walk downtown and the Town Trail uptown to cruise around on, the well known road ride up Wolf Creek Pass as well as many others. Whether it's a mellow beginner ride that you are looking for or a challenging day out on the trail, the experienced staff at Pagosa Mountain Sports will outfit you with a bike rental and local trail beta for a memorable ride!

Pagosa Mountain Sports offers guided bike tours!  Check our Guided Tours page for more information!

Check out our local wheel club's website (DUST2) for trail and route information.  DUST2 uses the Trail Forks app for local mountain bike trail descriptions and conditions.  Our staff will happily suggest a route if you are not familiar with the area!
